Animal Shelter Support Associate Immediate Opening
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Part Time: 25 hours a week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Animal Care Support
Prepare and maintain clean animal housing areas, kennels, and cages.
Remove soiled bedding, litter, and waste from designated animal housing areas.
Refill food containers, water stations, bedding materials, and litter supplies as directed.
Assist with laundering, drying, folding, and distributing towels, blankets, bedding, and related shelter materials.
Support Animal Care Technicians by ensuring supplies and materials are readily available throughout the shelter.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal support areas, storage rooms, and supply stations.
Follow shelter sanitation and biosecurity protocols.
Facility Support
Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors throughout the shelter.
Clean and disinfect hallways, offices, break rooms, restrooms, and common areas.
Empty trash and recycling containers.
Restock soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and cleaning supplies.
Clean surfaces, doors, windows, and high-touch areas.
Assist with general housekeeping and facility upkeep.
Report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns to shelter management.
Duties Not Performed
Employees in this position:
Do not walk, handle, restrain, transport, or interact directly with animals.
Do not administer medications or medical treatments.
Do not perform animal intake, examinations, vaccinations, or behavioral assessments.
Do not enter occupied animal enclosures unless specifically authorized by shelter management.
