Summary:

The Animal Care Technician is a critical participant in the maintenance and management plan for the college’s census of laboratory animals used both in research and teaching. The successful candidate will provide support in the Animal Research Facility that includes daily care and maintenance of housing for rodents, several aquatic species, and amphibians that support research and teaching in several academic departments. This is a part-time “on-call” position, anticipated to average 10 hours per week, which may include weekend and holiday hours. 

Minimum Qualifications: high school diploma; demonstrated high level of reliability, responsibility, and attention to detail; experience working with animals (research, farm, or companion) beyond pet ownership; job requires lifting up to 50lbs, and ability to do tasks that require repetitive bending and reaching. 

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree or higher in a field related to animal care; experience working with laboratory animal research and technical animal facility support

Pay rate: $18.50 per hour
