    Description

    We are seeking an experienced Animal Care Supervisor to join our leadership team.

    The Animal Care Supervisor oversees the daily operations of our boarding and grooming services, including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff across a 7-day operation. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of all pets, maintaining accurate feeding, medication, and care records, and partnering with the hospital's medical team to support patient care when needed.

    This position also ensures boarding facility standards are maintained, including cleaning, laundry, bathing, and overall pet care. The Supervisor works closely with clients throughout the reservation, check-in, stay, and check-out process to deliver an outstanding customer experience while supporting the growth and success of the practice.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead, coach, and supervise Animal Care team members.
    • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop staff to support high-quality patient care and client service.
    • Foster collaboration between boarding, grooming, and hospital teams through a "One Practice" approach.
    • Assist with performance evaluations, coaching, corrective action, and employee development.
    • Ensure clear communication across shifts, departments, and with clients.
    • Maintain staffing schedules that support hospital needs and operational efficiency.
    • Monitor boarding operations, pet care protocols, and facility standards.
    • Support practice goals by identifying opportunities to improve revenue, control expenses, and solve operational challenges.
    • Lead by example through professionalism, positivity, and effective communication.
    • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Previous animal care experience required.
    • Knowledge of canine and feline behavior, body language, handling, and restraint techniques.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, hospital staff, and clients in person, by phone, email, text, and medical records.
    • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and general computer applications

    Preferred Qualifications  

    • 2+ years Veterinary or Boarding Facility experience.  
    • 2+ years Supervisory experience in an animal-related field.  

    Required Experience  

    • 6 months to one year of Supervisory experience.  
    • 1+ year of Veterinary Assistant/ Technician Experience OR 2+ years Boarding Facility/ Kennel Experience.
