Summary:
Assumes responsibility, under supervision of Operating Room Leadership/Anesthesiologist and Registered Nurse, for the set-up and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and monitors supplies. Assists anesthesiologist in delivery of anesthetic care for a specific group of neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients in accordance with Surgical Services and Anesthesia Department’s established policies and procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
1 year experience as an Anesthesia Technician or 2 years’ experience as an Operating Room Patient Care Technician or equivalent experience
License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
Basic Life Saving (AHA or ARC)
Preferred: Anesthesia Technician certification from a National or State recognized professional organization which requires an accrediting exam.
Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant and/or EKG Certification
