1.Directs ordering of anesthesia supplies and medications
2. Keeps anesthesia work room neat and orderly
3. Checks other areas, (PACU, ICU, CCU) for monitoring devices for patient transfer and return to surgery unit
4. Assists in maintaining equipment in proper working order
5. Cleans all non-disposable anesthesia equipment
6. Returns cleaned equipment to its proper place
7. Promptly responds to page for anesthesia turn-over between cases
8. Identifies, tags and sends malfunctioning equipment to Materials Manager for repair or replacement
9. Shows initiative towards learning new and additional responsibilities
10. Practices safety standards in the performance of patient care and unit activities
11. Reset of room, including cleaning of all lines, cables, ect., between patients
12. Cleaned lines/cables are placed in a manner conducive to remain clean
13. Understanding and practice of Universal Precautions, according to OSHA regulations
14. Practice includes the understanding of cross-contamination theories, as out-lined in Dept. P&P
15. Supports the hospital’s philosophy and objectives
16. Applies aseptic technique and knowledge in the spiking of IVs & A-lines or other invasive lines
17. Correctly labels/dates and applies initials to pre-set lines
18. Charges appropriately by either PYXIS or special order
19. Returns and credits, items removed from PYXIS, but not used
20. Practices cost-effectiveness by stocking according to PAR levels
21. Efficiently cleans and utilizes anesthesia instruments and equipment
22. Works with Materials Manager in ordering, stocking and identifies equipment shortage
23. Performs basic reparative action (trouble-shooting) follows through to initiate repair and resolve malfunction immediately
24. Assists other personnel in location of anesthesia equipment for the pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient
25. Demonstrates correct procedure in handling medical waste, contaminated supplies and materials
26. Demonstrates skill and good judgement when responding to anesthesia emergencies
27. Demonstrates ability to establish priorities when performing duties
28. Shows progress towards reaching goals established in previous evaluation
29. Reviews information presented in Staff Meetings, when unable to attend
30. Application of new information toward meeting self-motivational goals & tasks
31. Maintains open communication with the ORD, Charge RN, Lead SPD Tech
32. Assists with regional anesthesia, epidural, & Bier Block
33. Assists all anesthesia personnel MD, Residents & CRNAs in gathering supplies for hemo- dynamic monitoring, A-line, CP, COs, etc.
34. Assists with fiberoptic bronchoscopy & TEEC
35. Performs set-up of Hot-lines, Heated Circuits, PA, A_line and tests for patency
36. Prepares and check for leaks in all circuits
37. Responds to alarm systems to assist with trouble shooting
38. Aids and performs ABGs with 100% accuracy
39. Knows the emergency procedure for Hyperthermia
40. Checks and restock Code Box, charges appropriately
41. Assist with patient pick up and blood product pick-up.

Computer Skills:
Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):
High school Diploma or equivalent. American Heart Association BLS provider required.
Experience (required and preferred): Two years experience of full time day shift work experience in hospital setting (operating-room preferred) or ASATT certification. Supervisory experienced preferred.
