Anesthesia Technician

Understands and practices the importance of proper cleaning and disinfecting of anesthesia equipment; inventory and ordering ability in order to meet supply and demand; some knowledge of anesthesia equipment and medical terminology. Ballantyne Medical Center has 6 ORs and sees nearly 3,000 cases per year. Case mix includes general, TEE, GYN, urology, and OB.  

What We're Looking For:

• Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience Required:
  • 1 year of previous experience preferred but not required.
• Additional skills required:
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Understands and practices the importance of proper cleaning and disinfecting of anesthesia equipment; inventory and ordering ability in order to meet supply and demand; some knowledge of anesthesia equipment and medical terminology.

What You'll Do:

• Assists the anesthesia team prior to, during, and after patient procedures in any location anesthesia is provided across Novant Health
• Proficient in sterilization, maintenance, packing, and resupply of the most complex anesthesia supplies and emergency equipment
• Has significant patient contact while assisting in procedures and works collaboratively with the anesthesia team, nursing staff, and off-site resources
