Job Summary
- Hiring a Senior Android Developer to join the team responsible for the Shopping & Dining Point of Sale (POS) systems used across Resorts. This is a long-term modernization initiative where bringing a vendor-owned POS platform in-house.
- The project is approximately halfway through a multi-year migration effort, and the team is looking for a highly experienced native Android engineer who can contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up time.
- This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and enhancing enterprise-grade Android applications, integrating with backend services and POS hardware, and helping drive architectural improvements as the platform evolves from XML-based UI toward Jetpack Compose.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance mobile solutions for enterprise POS systems.
- Work with Android 11 and Android 13 environments and ensure compatibility across supported devices.
- Develop features using XML-based UI, while contributing to the ongoing migration to Jetpack Compose.
- Implement Clean Architecture / MVVM principles and Android best practices.
- Integrate Android applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Work with RXJava and Coroutines for asynchronous programming and reactive workflows.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and QA teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Track work using Jira, participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and release planning.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and maintain high code quality through unit testing and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, hardware integrations, and production defects.
