Schedule: September 7 - November 11, 2026, Monday through Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm

Hiring Range: Full Daily Rate - $100
Education/Experience/Licensure:
- Bachelor''s degree in Special Education or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
- 3+ years experience teaching experience with students with disabilities.
- Valid teaching license issued by the NC Department of Public Instruction in at least one area of disability.
- Experience in program coordination, instructional coaching, or administrative roles within EC services is preferred.
- Prior teaching experience in a public, private, or charter school setting.
- Experience working with diverse populations or students with special educational needs.
- Experience developing curriculum, implementing innovative teaching methods, and adapting to flexible educational settings.
- A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.

Job Duties:
Classroom Instruction & Student Support
- Follow lesson plans left by the EC teacher and deliver content clearly and engagingly.
- Create a respectful and inclusive classroom culture that supports social and emotional learning.
- Communicate with students, parents (as needed), and staff to support student achievement.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure safety while encouraging student participation.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with IEPs and 504 plans.
- Complete administrative tasks such as attendance and classroom notes.
- Leave detailed feedback and ensure the room is tidy for the returning teacher.
- Collaborate with staff and jump into support roles as needed (hall duty, activities, etc.).
- Uphold all school policies, equity principles, and trauma-informed practices.
EC Compliance & Program Support
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, North Carolina EC regulations, and school policies.
- Monitor IEP development and implementation, ensuring alignment with state and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with school leadership on special education programming, procedural compliance, and student placement decisions.
Curriculum & Instructional Support:
- Assist teachers in implementing effective special education instructional techniques.
- Provide specialized instructional strategies tailored to EC student needs.
- Support inclusive education models by collaborating with general education teachers.
- Develop and refine curriculum materials and new course offerings for EC students.
Assessment & Program Evaluation:
- Develop and implement alternative assessment tools for EC students.
- Analyze student progress data to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Recommend and implement improvements based on assessment insights.
