    Job Title: Independent Community Hospital AP/CP Pathologist Medical Director

    Location: Eastern Connecticut


    Overview

    We are seeking an Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (AP/CP board-certified) to join the largest independent pathology group in Connecticut. This full-time Medical Director Pathologist role is ideally suited for a community hospital pathologist with excellent diagnostic skills in surgical pathology and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide expert diagnostic services in surgical pathology, including sign-out of diverse cases.

    • Participate in cytology and/or bone marrow sign-out (desirable, but not required).

    • Supervise elements of the clinical laboratory as needed.

    • Serve on hospital boards and contribute to institutional initiatives.

    • Collaborate with clinicians and laboratory staff to support comprehensive patient care.


    Work Schedule & Environment

    • Full-time, employed position.

    • Join a group of more than 30 pathologists serving six hospitals across Connecticut.

    • Community-based hospital practice with a broad range of general pathology responsibilities.

    • Physician-led group with a longstanding reputation for excellence and independence.


    Candidate Qualifications

    • MD or DO with AP/CP Board Certification.

    • Strong diagnostic skills in surgical pathology.

    • Cytology and/or bone marrow sign-out experience desirable, but not essential.

    • Candidates with prior work experience and recent graduates are welcome to apply.

    • Excellent communication skills and a collegial, team-oriented approach.
