Job Title: Analytical Technologist
Location: Wilmington, DE 19803 (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Pay Range: $32.00/hr. to $35.91/hr. on W2
Work Authorization: US Citizen or Green Card only
 
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO
Position Overview:
  • The Analytical Technologist will support Client's Analytical & Decision Sciences labs located at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware.
  • Working under the direction of technical staff, this individual will provide analytical support for Research & Development (R&D), Technical Service & Development (TS&D), and Manufacturing organizations.
  • The role involves operating analytical instrumentation, preparing samples, collecting high-quality data, and maintaining laboratory operations in a safe and efficient manner.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for analysis in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform X-ray diffraction (XRD) data acquisition and conduct basic assessments of data quality.
  • Perform X-ray tomography data acquisition and conduct basic assessments of data quality.
  • Operate electron microscopy instrumentation and conduct basic assessments of data quality.
  • Acquire particle characterization and energetics data, including techniques such as:
  • Particle size analysis
  • Density measurements
  • Contact angle measurements
  • Surface tension measurements
  • Surface area analysis
  • Perform routine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste in compliance with established safety and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory organization through cleaning, stocking supplies, and supporting general laboratory operations.
  • Communicate results, observations, and potential issues promptly with technical staff.
  • Work effectively within a team environment while managing changing priorities and timelines.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant laboratory experience and on-the-job training.
  • Experience safely handling chemicals and preparing samples in a laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and standard laboratory practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to generating high-quality data.
  • Ability to follow procedures, maintain accurate records, and work safely at all times.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or R&D laboratory environments is a plus.
  • Basic computer and data management skills.
