    Analytical Operations Scientist – Bioanalysis/DMPK

    Location: Ridgefield, CT (Onsite)

    Department: Bioanalysis – Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (BA-DMPK)

    Job Summary:

    The Analytical Operations Scientist will support the management, characterization, and tracking of critical reagents used in bioanalytical assays supporting non-clinical and clinical studies. This role requires strong laboratory skills, attention to detail, and experience with analytical techniques including analytical Size Exclusion Chromatography (aSEC) and LC-MS.

    The ideal candidate will have a background in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical sciences with experience supporting laboratory operations, sample management, analytical testing, and scientific documentation.

    Key Responsibilities;

    • Support BA-DMPK laboratory operations by managing critical reagents, matrices, and reference standards used in bioanalytical assays.
    • Perform inventory management activities including:
      • Physical receipt of materials
      • Organized storage
      • Electronic tracking
      • Sample monitoring
      • Discrepancy investigation and resolution
    • Manage off-site reagent sample storage and maintain accurate tracking records.
    • Execute routine and specialized laboratory procedures independently while following established SOPs.
    • Perform analytical characterization of critical reagents using:
      • Analytical Size Exclusion Chromatography (aSEC)
      • LC-MS
    • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, analytical records, and supporting data within electronic laboratory notebooks.
    • Communicate scientific results through reports, presentations, and Microsoft Office documentation.
    • Support laboratory safety activities including inspections of eyewash stations and fire extinguishers.
    • Coordinate pipette and balance calibration activities within DMPK laboratories.
    • Assist with equipment maintenance, freezer management, and additional laboratory support activities as assigned.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, SOPs, safety requirements, and company policies.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced pharmaceutical research environment.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as:
      • Biology
      • Biochemistry
      • Chemistry
      • Biotechnology
      • Pharmaceutical Sciences
      • Related Life Sciences field
    • 0–3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
    • Experience with analytical techniques such as:
      • Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC/aSEC)
      • LC-MS
    • Experience with laboratory documentation, sample tracking, or reagent management.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks independently.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability and willingness to learn electronic laboratory systems and data management tools.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research laboratory experience.
    • Experience supporting Bioanalysis, DMPK, ADME, or pharmacokinetics teams.
    • Experience working under SOP-driven and regulated laboratory environments.
    • Experience with electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), LIMS, or laboratory data management systems.
    • Experience with analytical instrument operation and troubleshooting.
