    Make an Impact as an Analytical Instrumentation Field Service Engineer

    Join LECO, a family-owned innovator in laboratory instrumentation for over 80 years. This full-time, remote, salaried role places you at the center of our customer experience, traveling throughout the Southeastern U.S. to install, maintain, and support our analytical and metallographic systems.

    A Day in the Life

    You start the week reviewing your schedule of customer visits across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina, with occasional trips to nearby regions. Most days are on-site at customer facilities, and you’re comfortable traveling up to five days per week, including up to four overnight hotel stays Monday–Friday when needed. You work independently, manage your time well, and represent LECO with professionalism while building lasting customer relationships.

    What You’ll Do

    • Deliver preventive and general maintenance, diagnose breakdowns, and execute corrective repairs on analytical and metallographic instruments.
    • Install new systems, perform updates, and implement upgrade kits.
    • Train users on theory, operation, software, and best-practice care.
    • Uphold LECO’s ISO accreditation by following defined service procedures and documentation standards.

    Where You’ll Work

    Primary service area includes Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina, with travel to surrounding regions as needed. The ideal candidate is based near Atlanta, GA.

    Your Background

    • Self-directed professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Committed to safety and adherence to each customer’s site rules and protocols.
    • Detail-focused and highly organized.
    • Willing to attend initial instrumentation training at LECO headquarters in St. Joseph, Michigan (3–5 months), plus field shadowing with experienced engineers nationwide and annual service training thereafter.
    • Available for daily travel with up to four overnights per week (Mon–Fri).
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude; experience with AC and DC electronics (or willingness to learn).
    • Chemistry or military background is a plus, not a requirement.
    • Should have a personal credit card or the ability to obtain one.

    Education/Certifications

    • Two-Year Technical Degree or Trade School, or
    • Prior military service with technical training, or
    • Equivalent technical work experience/training.

    Compensation & Perks

    • Full-time, remote, salaried role with frequent travel.
    • $5,000 signing bonus.
