    Description

    Epitec is seeking to support a private American space technology company hiring an experienced Structural Analyst III to support development of the next generation of a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle.

    This engineer will be responsible for structural analysis, sizing, testing, qualification, and integration of payload accommodation hardware, including large-scale composite and metallic aerospace structures. The position offers ownership of hardware through the entire product lifecycle from concept through launch.

    Responsibilities

    • Own the full hardware lifecycle from requirements definition through concept development, design, analysis, testing, qualification, and integration
    • Perform structural analysis of primary and secondary metallic and composite aerospace structures
    • Complete hand calculations and FEM analyses to determine margins of safety
    • Develop and validate finite element models (FEM)
    • Generate stress analysis documentation supporting engineering releases and drawings
    • Conduct trade studies evaluating risk, cost, and performance
    • Support structural test planning, execution, data reduction, and reporting
    • Collaborate with manufacturing, integration, and cross-functional engineering teams
    • Present technical findings to internal and external stakeholders
    • Support launch vehicle hardware development from concept through flight qualification

    Requirements

    Required

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    • 6+ years of aerospace structural analysis experience
    • Experience supporting aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures
    • Experience performing vehicle load path distribution analysis and structural sizing
    • Strong understanding of metallic and composite structural design
    • Experience with:
      • Nastran
      • Ansys
      • HyperMesh
      • OptiStruct
    • Experience performing bolted joint analysis
    • Experience using CAD systems (Creo/Windchill preferred)
    • Experience performing hand calculations and FEA
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to independently own projects and drive execution
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), Refugee, or Asylee

    Preferred

    • Launch vehicle or spacecraft development experience
    • Skin-stringer structure design
    • Orthogrid structure design
    • Isogrid structure design
    • Composite sandwich panel design
    • Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) experience
    • Automated Tape Laying (ATL) experience
    • Large out-of-autoclave composite structure experience
    • Manufacturing process development experience
    • Systems engineering knowledge
    • Design of Experiments (DOE) experience
    • Production transition experience
