  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 18 months
  • Pay Rate: $16.00 $32.36 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Job Summary

This role is focused on supporting Main Panel Upgrade (MPU) disconnect/reconnect operations by coordinating scheduling activities, managing documentation, and serving as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders throughout the process. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, with experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, and SharePoint to track schedules, maintain records, and ensure timely project execution. Key responsibilities include scheduling customer appointments, coordinating disconnect/reconnect activities, and handling rescheduling as needed while maintaining clear communication with all parties involved. Experience in the solar, utility, or construction industry is highly preferred, particularly with solar scheduling and a solid understanding of the meter panel upgrade (MPU) process, as these skills will enable the candidate to effectively support project coordination and deliver a seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedules and coordinates Main Panel Upgrade (MPU) disconnect/reconnect work by managing scheduling systems and documentation, communicating with customers and stakeholders, monitoring CPUC timelines for compliance, prioritizing backlog, and ensuring strict adherence to MPU procedures
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule customer appointments
  • Coordinate with customers, cities/agencies, contractors, and internal stakeholders regarding inspections and MPU activities
  • Track and manage project data using internal systems
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Most customer communications are conducted through internal systems and email for tracking purposes, with limited phone interaction when rescheduling is needed
  • Support both Covina and Ontario districts while physically based in the Covina location

Required Skills

  • Experience supporting scheduling, coordination, administrative, or operations support functions
  • Ability to manage deadlines, follow established procedures, and maintain accurate records
  • Proficiency with basic computer and office software
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with follow-through across multiple stakeholders
  • SharePoint
  • Microsoft Office Suite (with emphasis on Excel, SharePoint, and Teams)

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of meter panel upgrades, utility disconnect/reconnect coordination, electrical service upgrades, and/or solar energy systems
  • Strong understanding of utility requirements, permitting processes, and residential/commercial electrical infrastructure preferred (not required)
  • Solar industry experience, especially scheduling or coordinating panel upgrades
  • Experience with meter panel upgrades (MPU)
  • Construction, utility, telecom, electrical, or project coordination backgrounds with exposure to permitting/inspections, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, and main panel upgrades
  • Understanding of city inspection requirements and the re-energization process

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (minimum requirement)
  • Candidates with college degrees are welcome and will not be considered overqualified

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Fully onsite, 5 days per week at the Covina Service Center
  • Candidate will support both Covina and Ontario districts but is not expected to travel between districts
  • In-person interviews only at the Covina location

Important Notes

  • First 30 days will focus on learning Edison processes and acronyms, MPU workflow training, utilizing a detailed step-by-step job aid created by the manager, and working alongside experienced MPU personnel
  • Interview panel will consist of the hiring manager and peer analysts from other districts; candidates will not meet the broader team during the interview process
  • In-person interview required
