Job Description

The team is responsible for protecting the integrity, safety, and trust of the Visa payment ecosystem. The team monitors and enforces risk and compliance programs that identify, investigate, and remediate behaviors that threaten the stability of the network, Visa clients, and end users.

These programs span multiple risk domains, including acquirer and issuer monitoring, fraud and risk compliance, integrity programs, and network risk investigations, and include programs such as Rules Compliance, VAMP, VIMP, FRECOP, VIRP, and related ecosystem risk frameworks. Collectively, these programs ensure that ecosystem participants operate in alignment with Visa Rules, program requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.

 

Role Overview

 

This individual contributor Analyst role supports Visa's ecosystem risk and compliance programs by conducting investigations, analyzing data, and executing monitoring and enforcement activities that promote the integrity of the Visa payment system.

The Analyst identifies potential risk, non-compliant activity, and Visa Rules violations; performs investigative and data-driven analysis; and supports remediation and enforcement actions; working within established frameworks, the role escalates complex or sensitive matters to senior team members as appropriate.

The position partners closely with internal stakeholders such as Global Risk, PERC, Rules & Compliance, regional risk functions, Client Services, and Account Executives to ensure consistent application of risk and compliance standards while minimizing operational, brand, and reputational risk to Visa. The role primarily supports enforcement programs and projects under guidance and contributes to internal and external stakeholder engagement related to compliance and enforcement activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and assess client and ecosystem participant activity to identify potential Visa Rules violations, compliance issues, or emerging risk trends.
• Conduct case investigations using transaction data, internal systems, and external research; document findings and support remediation, enforcement, and corrective actions through resolution.
• Partner with Clients, Account Executives, Client Services, Risk, and Rules & Compliance teams to promote understanding of Visa Rules and support consistent program execution.
• Manage multiple investigations and action plans simultaneously, ensuring timely follow-up, issue resolution, and adherence to established procedures.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding Visa Rules, compliance requirements, risk programs, and case outcomes.
• Escalate high-risk, complex, or sensitive matters to senior management as appropriate to minimize operational, brand, and reputational risk to Visa.
• Contribute to program enhancements, operational improvements, annual planning activities, and the ongoing evolution of risk and compliance programs.
• Collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones to support consistent enforcement and compliance outcomes worldwide.

This role is a Hybrid position to be based in our Atlanta, GA office location with expectations of being in office 3 days per week. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD).
• Knowledge of compliance, risk monitoring, auditing, investigative processes, and control frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with transactional, operational, or risk data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly document findings and explain complex issues to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Fluency in English required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• 3–5+ years of experience in payments, financial services, banking, risk, fraud, compliance, audit, customer support, or a related analytical field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into practical business solutions and sound risk-based recommendations.

• Effective project and stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating across teams and balancing competing priorities.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, adapt to changing priorities, and make sound decisions with limited information.
• Knowledge of compliance, risk management, audit, or regulatory frameworks, including assessing adherence to standards and driving corrective actions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on industry trends, payment networks, and regulatory developments.
• Visa experience or knowledge of the payments industry, including card payments, ACH, push payments, and network rules, is highly desirable.
• Additional language capabilities are a plus.

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $93,200.00 to $ 144,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
