The Analyst Inventory Control II position is responsible for the procurement of production parts, monitoring production schedules, the on-time delivery performance of suppliers, and controlling inventory levels.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively use established processes to ensure the optimal flow of parts from the supplier's facility through delivery
Assist in directing the activities of production parts flow and inventory control functions
Analyze MRP daily to produce supplier releases
Manage assigned parts and their respective suppliers, including all problem resolutions
Add, defer, expedite, and cancel purchase orders to maintain inventory levels while supporting production material requirements
Monitor daily shortage reports and collect firm tracking and expected delivery timing
Proactively identify parts shortages and implement appropriate actions internally and externally to mitigate the risk of potentially disrupting production
Identify, validate, and perform root cause analysis for missed deliveries on critical parts
Develop suppliers to ensure improved delivery performance and inventory control
Coordinate engineering changes and build schedules with suppliers and production to meet customer expectations while minimizing surplus exposure
Verify suppliers receive weekly reports and understand expectations including part quantities and required delivery timing
Proactively confirm delivery/schedules against purchase orders and take action if necessary
Establish parameters for new part set-up for inventory control levels
Monitor and update supplier lead-times for system accuracy
Research and act upon receipt inspection logs/accounting issues for resolution
Work with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and the vendor(s) to determine and implement appropriate inventory levels, minimum order requirements, economic order quantities, delivery offsets, and supplier lead times
Review and investigate obsolete or no demand parts for disposition
Assist in managing freight/logistics costs and inventory reduction activities
Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory
Follow established procedures; initiate and implement improvements
Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business preferred (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum of two years material planning experience in a manufacturing setting
Experience in building and leading cross-functional teams
Strong and consistent attention to detail
Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
Creative and innovative team player
Intermediate computer skills are required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Sound judgment with the ability to make timely decisions
