Job Description and Duties

The permanent, full time Analyst II will be directed by the Supervisor I (Training Manager) in the Human Resources - Training Department at the Department of State Hospitals Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties, but not limited to:

New Employee Orientation Coordinator

  • Coordinate the New Employee Orientation (NEO) Process
  • Monitor and document new employee attendance and compliance
  • Develop curriculum and teach classes as directed
  • Integrate new changes in information, policies, and procedures into classroom instruction

Learning Management System (LMS) Database Administration

  • Manage, organize and evaluate any LMS to register staff, deliver training, and track compliance
  • Monitor LMS to ensure compliance with control agency requirements and make recommendations to management to improve overall compliance
  • Perform regular compliance audits and provide compliance reporting throughout the hospital

Classroom Instructor

  • Coordinate, plan, and provide assistance in teaching staff development training courses, including, but not limited to:

  • 40-hour Analyst Certification Program (ACP)

  • Career Development classes

  • Maintain a Training for Trainers (T4T) Certification

Curriculum and Policy Research and Design

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate existing and recommended training programs and lesson plans
  • Maintain tracking of lesson plan renewals to ensure classes are being kept up to date yearly
  • Track Curriculum Vitae for instructors and ensure they are kept up to date on an annual basis
  • Interpret regulations and policies for impact on departmental operations
  • Make recommendations on related departmental policies

Additional Classification Duties

  • Establish and maintain the department Career Development Programs: Upward Mobility Program and 20/20 Programs
  • Track and monitor program participants, completion statistics, and any other relevant data
  • Provide date for the hospital-wide Quarterly Training Report
  • Act as Liaison and Training Center Coordinator to the American Heart Association (AHA), ensuring guidelines for Basic Life Support (BLS) are followed at DSH-Atascadero (DSH-A)
  • Coordinate with all AHA Instructors regarding updated information on any related policy changes in AHA
  • Track renewals and classes taught by BLS Instructors at all Training Centers under DSH-A
  • Monitor and track Supervisory and Leadership training hours to maintain

compliance with control agency requirements

  • Track Leadership hours for Supervisors for completion/compliance of required 20 hours, every two years

  • Prepare Quarterly Report for the Training Department

  • Other duties as assigned

The Department of State Hospitals Atascadero is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services for mentally ill adult males who are court committed throughout the State of California.
