    My AmeriCorps - Home Page AmeriCorps Member Parent Specialist- TQT (WFD)

    Edu-Futuro's AmeriCorps Parent Specialist oversees program projects, initiatives, curricula, research, and activities aimed at supporting parents and Community Outreach. The tasks will include a variety of direct service, administrative, coordination, and logistical services to support the program''s operations, as well as gathering and entering information for reporting and other purposes. The member will facilitate financial literacy workshops, resume and cover letter writing workshops, and employment readiness services to parents and adults in Northern Virginia. Additionally, the AmeriCorps Parent Specialist will support the PES Team Lead and WDS Team Lead in all Parent programs as needed. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.

    Member Duties : Identify employment opportunities that align with the interests and capabilities of program participants. Deliver workshops relating to the Financial Empowerment Network to families. Assist Parent Support Specialists in planning and preparing for adult/parent programs, as well as the associated logistics. Collaborate with the Workforce Development Specialist (WDS) to identify and recruit parent volunteers and provide guidance, coaching, and, when applicable, mentoring to other parents based on their social and employment needs. Maintain and report accurate participant and volunteer data (attendance, progress, completion) and track the program's expenses for meals and supplies. Deliver 5-week workshops in resume building and cover letter writing. Deliver the Tech for Parents 5-week training class. Facilitate or co-facilitate parent programs.
