    Program Summary The Mariposa Program, operated by the Napa County Office of Education, is seeking compassionate and community-minded AmeriCorps Members to serve as Mariposa Coaches for the 2026-2027 school year. Members will play an integral role in supporting youth development, mentoring, and cultural enrichment across local school sites throughout Napa County. Key Responsibilities & Member Service Activities Youth Mentorship & Student Support: Positive Role Modeling: Serve as a consistent, caring adult role model and mentor for diverse youth populations across assigned school sites. Social-Emotional Development: Support students in building self-confidence, interpersonal communication, leadership skills, emotional resilience, and healthy peer relationships. School Connectedness: Actively foster student engagement and a sense of belonging through intentional relationship-building and inclusive programming. Group Facilitation: Lead and assist with small-group activities, restorative student-centered discussions, and student leadership opportunities. Cultural Enrichment & Community Engagement: Mariposa Programming: Implement prevention education, leadership activities, and youth engagement initiatives central to the Mariposa mission. Arts & Culture Support: Coordinate and assist with youth participation in regional Ballet Folklórico programming, heritage events, and cultural celebrations. Family & Community Inclusion: Help establish welcoming, identity-affirming environments for students and families; assist with school-wide events, community gatherings, and student performances. Professional Development & Member Growth: Training & Coaching: Participate in ongoing professional development, cohort-based team training, and mentorship from program leadership.
