    Join AmeriCorps as a Health Educator for High School - School Based Health at Erie Family Health Centers. This year-long, full-time service position provides the opportunity to support students, families, and communities while building professional skills through mentorship, training, and hands-on service experience.

    This is a year-long, full-time AmeriCorps position requiring completion of a minimum of 1,700 service hours. The work schedule for this position is aligned with Erie's hours of operations.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Deliver health education and wellness programming to high school students.

    • Provide one-on-one nutrition and health coaching support.

    • Coordinate student access to vision and dental services.

    • Plan and facilitate health promotion events and outreach activities.

    • Support youth engagement initiatives and advisory boards.

    • Participate in community outreach and resource navigation activities.

    Applications must be submitted by September 13, 2026, to be considered for full-time opportunities. Anticipated start of Monday, September 21st 2026.

    Education

    • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

    Skills and Knowledge

    Required:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Desire and ability to present information to groups.

    • Current CPR Certification.

    • U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.

    • Ability to meet AmeriCorps background check requirements.

    Preferred:

    • Experience in community health, education, or social services.

    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

    • EPIC experience.

    • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
