Are you ready to be part of a dynamic team at Teradata? We are seeking a talented VMware Cloud Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. This virtual role, based in California, offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to our world-class Teradata hybrid-first platform. This platform seamlessly integrates Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) with AI and analytics capabilities into a unified Lakehouse architecture, empowering enterprises to manage traditional EDW, data analytics, and advanced AI workloads all within a single environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of skilled engineers to perform software engineering duties including design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance test strategies and processes.
• Conduct end-to-end testing to ensure functionality, stability, and integration.
• Drive virtualization best practices across customer enterprise environments.
• Optimize network hardware and software for virtualization integration.
• Collaborate with DevOps to build and develop test tools and automation.
• Perform root cause analysis of customer-reported issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with 7 years of work experience or equivalent advanced degree with relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge of virtualization technology including hypervisors and network virtualization.
• Proficiency in KVM, VMware technologies (vSphere, vSan, vMotion, vCenter, vRa).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional.

Preferences

• Knowledge of VMware alternatives (KVM/Nutanix, RedHat/OpenShift).
• Familiarity with programming/scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
• Experience in automating VMware environments using PowerCLI, Python, or Go.
