Hiring Range: Adjunct faculty are paid based on a per-credit-hour rate. This rate is determined by the assigned rank and the discipline being taught. Assigned rank is based on a combination of education and teaching experience. Hiring range is $819-$1,693.

Job Description:

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse, culturally competent staff at all levels of the organization who reflect the demographics of our students. Reynolds is seeking adjunct instructors to teach American Sign Language on campus. This is a part-time adjunct teaching faculty-ranked appointment. Salary commensurate with the experience of the applicant, in graduate education in the field, related full-time occupational employment, and full-time equivalent teaching.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in the teaching field or master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in the teaching field. Qualifying academic degrees and coursework must be awarded by and/or completed with a regionally accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience teaching in the discipline, especially at the college level
  • Experience teaching in in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems
