Extrusion  Technician – 12 hr shifts
Position Summary
Seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Converting Operator to join its manufacturing team in Johnstown, CO. The Converting Operator is responsible for operating converting equipment that transforms plastic film into finished products through processes such as slitting, rewinding, sheeting, and bag making. This position plays a critical role in ensuring finished products meet customer specifications while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate converting equipment according to production schedules and customer specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality and efficient production.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, proper dimensions, and overall quality.
  • Perform changeovers, tooling adjustments, and machine setups for different production runs.
  • Accurately measure, label, package, and prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Complete production reports, quality documentation, and inventory records.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and minimize downtime.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, converting, packaging, or machine operation experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read work orders, production specifications, and measuring devices.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to safely operate around moving industrial machinery.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.
