Job Description Summary
The Alumni Engagement Student Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Alumni Engagement and University Advancement teams. This position works closely with alumni engagement staff to help create meaningful events, programs, and experiences that bring the University of La Verne's mission, values, and brand to life while strengthening connections between alumni, students, and the university community.
The Student Assistant will provide administrative, operational, and creative support for alumni engagement initiatives, including event planning and execution, communications, marketing, data management, and project coordination. This role assists with the development and distribution of alumni communications, creation of promotional materials, social media content, event registration processes, and tracking of program deliverables and timelines.
The Student Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement and regularly collaborates with professional staff across University Advancement. This position also provides opportunities to interact with alumni, donors, university leadership, and other high-level stakeholders, offering valuable experience in event management, communications, nonprofit advancement, relationship building, and higher education administration.

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:
One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan - can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
