Essential Functions

Alumni & Donor Relationship Management - 40%

  • Actively manage a portfolio of approximately 125-150 alumni and friends, building and strengthening relationships across the full donor lifecycle - from discovery and qualification through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Spend a significant portion of time meeting with donors and prospects, both in person and virtually, to develop purposeful, long-term relationships.
  • Conduct discovery and qualification meetings to identify philanthropic interests and build a strong pipeline of engaged supporters.
  • Oversee the full gift process, including identifying prospects, making asks, and ensuring donors are recognized and informed of their impact.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Raiser's Edge database and collaborate with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to identify opportunities for major gift cultivation.

Annual Giving Strategy & Campaign Execution - 35%

  • Lead Mesa Community College's annual giving program to grow the donor base, increase participation, and build sustainable recurring giving.
  • Design and implement an annual giving plan and budget focused on acquisition, retention, growth, and recurring gifts.
  • Develop and execute multi-channel campaigns, including direct mail, digital outreach, Giving Day initiatives, and targeted employee and alumni appeals that highlight recurring giving opportunities.
  • Craft compelling business cases for support that connect donors to the College priorities and student impact.
  • Engage alumni, employees, retirees, community partners, and friends in giving opportunities that inspire ongoing support.
  • Track campaign performance, analyze results, and refine strategies to increase engagement, and maximize giving outcomes.

Alumni Advisory Board Leadership - 15% (Year One), 10% Thereafter

  • Lead the relaunch of the College's Alumni Advisory Board to strengthen engagement and philanthropy.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Alumni Advisory Board.
  • Recruit, onboard, and engage alumni leaders from various backgrounds who represent the breadth of the College's community in partnership with the Chief Philanthropy Officer.
  • Establish a new board structure with expectations and a meeting cadence during the relaunch phase.
  • Facilitate board and committee meetings, guide members to advance engagement and fundraising goals and personally ask them to give.
  • Cultivate board members as ambassadors, supporting annual giving and promoting the College's mission.

Communications, Stewardship & Impact Reporting - 10%

  • Strengthen alumni and donor engagement by ensuring supporters understand the impact of their philanthropy and remain connected to the College's mission throughout their lives.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Advancement to create and deliver communications that inform and inspire alumni and donors.
  • Design stewardship and recognition initiatives that celebrate the impact of gifts through print and digital.
  • Monitor engagement and fundraising metrics and provide insights to refine strategies and enhance results.
  • Participate in key cultivation and celebration events, including the College's annual Hall of Fame recognition and other philanthropy initiatives.
