Join the Pennex family in Wellsville, PA as an Aluminum Extrusion Press Operator. From the moment your shift starts, you’ll set the tone for safe, efficient production—preparing tooling, dialing in the press, and turning raw billet into precise, high-quality profiles used in vehicles, buildings, and equipment across the country.

A day on the press

• Set up the extrusion line: install and align dies, molds, and tooling; verify everything is calibrated and ready to run.
• Prep materials: load aluminum billet correctly and confirm it meets specifications before production.
• Run the press: manage feeds, speeds, temperatures, and other parameters to keep output on target.
• Protect quality: measure, verify, and visually inspect in real time to catch defects and ensure every piece matches the print.
• Care for equipment: clean, lubricate, and replace worn parts; troubleshoot small issues to limit downtime.
• Work safely: follow procedures, use PPE, and flag any hazards immediately.
• Track performance: document output, downtime, scrap, and material usage; complete all required paperwork promptly.
• Support the team: collaborate with your Foreman and Lead Person; eventually mentor a Press Apprentice by demonstrating standard work and best practices.
• Be flexible: perform other duties as assigned.

This position works a 12-hour shift from 7:00AM to 7:00PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on rotating days and weekends.

What you’ll bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in machine operation is a plus.
• Experience with presses or similar production equipment, interpreting technical instructions, and using measurement tools preferred.
• Core strengths: clear communication, multitasking, and critical thinking.
• Detail-first mindset with a passion for doing things right.
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Physical readiness: stand for long periods, lift and move heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
• Must have regular attendance.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen

Reporting

Report issues to: Foreman and Lead Person.

Ongoing, hands-on training with opportunities to advance. You may also train future Press Apprentices as your experience grows.

Pay is determined by role, level, and location; within the posted range, your compensation will reflect your work location as well as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
