We are seeking a hands-on Alteryx Consultant to support the upgrade and migration of an existing Alteryx environment to a new server infrastructure. This individual will play a key role in moving and validating more than 300 existing workflows, ensuring required configuration updates are completed and workflows operate successfully in the upgraded environment.
This is a project-based engagement expected to last approximately 3–5 months. The ideal consultant is a strong Alteryx practitioner with experience administering, configuring, migrating, and troubleshooting Alteryx Server environments.
Provision and configure a new Alteryx virtual machine environment using the upgraded Alteryx version.
Complete an inventory and assessment of 300+ existing Alteryx workflows to identify migration requirements, dependencies, and potential compatibility considerations.
Migrate workflows from the current Alteryx environment to the new server environment.
Update workflows as needed to support the upgraded platform and new server configuration.
Configure and validate connections, credentials, data sources, and related environment settings in the new Alteryx environment.
Perform validation, testing, and issue resolution for migrated workflows to confirm successful functionality after migration.
Track workflow migration status, risks, issues, dependencies, and completion criteria throughout the project.
Coordinate with business and technical stakeholders to resolve migration-related questions and workflow issues.
Support cutover planning, including the deactivation and archival of the legacy Alteryx environment after successful migration.
Create clear technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal team members.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server administration.
Experience upgrading, configuring, or migrating Alteryx Server environments.
Experience migrating and validating a large volume of Alteryx workflows.
Strong understanding of Alteryx workflow dependencies, connections, credentials, data sources, and server configurations.
Ability to troubleshoot workflow failures, connection issues, credential challenges, and platform compatibility concerns.
Experience working in virtual machine or server-based environments.
Strong organizational and project execution skills, including the ability to manage a high volume of workflow migrations.
Ability to work independently, communicate progress clearly, and escalate risks or blockers appropriately.
Strong documentation and knowledge-transfer skills.
