Job Description

The Opportunity
A financial services program is looking for a systems analyst who knows Alternative Investments (Alts) inside and out. Working 100% remote, you'll own the system and engineering requirements behind Alts functionality, taking what the business and product teams need and shaping it into specifications engineers can execute on.

Your Day-to-Day
Testing Support

• Define the functional testing requirements that guide QA
• Build test scenarios with expected outcomes, backed by worked examples and sample data
• Check development and QA deliverables against the agreed functional requirements

Functional Requirements

• Break business requirements down into technical requirements, functional specifications, and user stories
• Document the happy path along with exception flows and edge cases
• Spell out calculations, validation rules, state transitions, and exception handling using realistic data samples

Gap & Impact Analysis

• Identify gaps and evaluate the system-level impact of changes before they're built

Workflows & Data Mapping

• Define end-to-end system workflows and map data across entities
• Trace every data element through its source, transformations, validations, and mappings
• Learn the data model well enough to explain how entities and relationships connect

Interfaces

• Write specs for source-to-target system interactions, covering triggers, sequencing, dependencies, expected results, and failure scenarios
• Document requirements for API, event, batch, file, and other interface types

Who We're Looking For

• A proven Alternative Investments background (required, with no exceptions)
• Experience specifying API, event, batch, and file interfaces
• Comfort working with data models, entity relationships, and data mapping
• A history of writing technical requirements, functional specs, and user stories for engineering teams
• A QA-minded approach, with experience writing test scenarios and validating builds
