Title: Allied Health Instructors (Non-Credit Courses)

Reports to: Allied Health Program Manager

Center of Workforce Development Mission:

The Mission of the Center for Workforce Development (CWD) at Roxbury Community College is to provide quality professional training for the residents of the Greater Roxbury and surrounding Boston metropolitan communities, skills upgrade for new and incumbent workers, and customized training for Businesses to help them reach their workforce goals. We offer a variety of short-term, non-credit training courses during the day and evening hours, and at weekends so students can attend training on a schedule that is convenient for them.

Scope of Work:

The Center for Workforce Development at Roxbury Community College is seeking experienced Allied Health instructors to teach Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Assistant (MA), and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) non-credit training programs. Courses are offered in-person, with schedules that may include day, evening, and weekend hours. These are part-time, contract-based teaching opportunities for professionals who are passionate about healthcare education and workforce training.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and hands-on instruction in one or more of the following areas:
  • Phlebotomy Technician
  • Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Use curriculum guidelines to facilitate lectures, skills labs, and clinical components.
  • Evaluate student progress, maintain accurate records, and support students' academic and career goals.
  • Collaborate with Workforce Development staff to improve instructional quality.
  • Participate in periodic faculty meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with all RCC, state, and certification body policies and standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work assigned schedule reliably and punctually
  • Attend periodic faculty training meetings
  • Assess student performance in achieving course goals and objectives
  • Keep accurate records in accordance with the Roxbury Community College policies
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the Allied Health Program Manager and Center for Workforce Development staff
  • Collaborate with the Allied Health Program Manager to continually improve course
  • Adapt and utilize course syllabi
Requirements:

Qualifications:
  • Phlebotomy: CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician)
  • Medical Assistant: CMA, RMA, or equivalent
  • CNA: Licensed CNA and/or current Massachusetts RN/LPN license
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the relevant Allied Health field.
  • Teaching, training, or precepting experience in a healthcare or adult education setting.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher in a healthcare-related field.
  • Previous experience teaching in non-credit or workforce development programs.
  • Experience teaching Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician courses using National Healthcareer Association (NHA) curriculum.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a long-term care setting (for CNA instructors).
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AV equipment and Microsoft Office.
Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • SORI and Massachusetts CORI background checks required.
Additional Information:

Expected Start Date: January 2026
Hourly Rate: $50 per hour.
