The Instructional Aide is responsible for providing academic support to individual students or small groups of students to help them succeed. Assists the teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

Work Schedule: 28.75 hours per week/5.75 hours per day/9:00 am to 3:15 pm

Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour

Benefits: Some, no health benefits

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or higher is required.
• Valid Connecticut State Department of Education Certification in Elementary Education is preferred.
• Experience with developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based teaching and learning.
• Experience with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is preferred.
• Demonstrates ethical, courteous, patient, and professional behavior in working with the administration, staff, students, and families.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong skills and concepts in all academic areas.

The Bethany Community School is an elementary school (PK to 6) located in central Bethany on an extensive rural campus. The school offers a supportive leadership team and staff and extensive instructional resources.
