    POSITION TITLE: Interim Instructional Supervisor ofHumanities (6-12)

    SUMMARY/GOAL OF POSITION: The Interim Humanities, 6-12 Instructional Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and supporting the districts instructional program in English Language Arts, Social Studies, and World Languages (Grades 6-12) during a temporary leave of absence.

    ESSENTIAL TASKS OF THE POSITION:

    • Supervises the 6-12 english/language arts, social studies, and world language instructional programs.
    • Maintains continuity of district initiatives and instructional priorities during the interim appointment
    • Supports the district's commitment to its model for High Quality Instruction methods and ensures alignment of programs and instructional resources.
    • Supports ongoing curriculum and assessment implementation and collaborates with curriculum and assessment teams.
    • Supports the administration of state standardized assessments in partnership with the Instructional Supervisor team as well as in collaboration with building leadership.
    • Indirectly supervises middle and high school teachers and assists school principals in observing and evaluating them in accordance with the Milford Public Schools Professional Growth & Learning Plan (PGLP).
    • Works collaboratively with the Humanities PK-5 Instructional Supervisor to articulate vertical learning expectations for PK-12 content areas.
    • Works collaboratively with Instructional Supervisors at the secondary level to ensure continuity of programming across departments (grades 6-12).
    • Serves as a resource and advisor to building administrators and teachers.
    • Plans, coordinates, and facilitates district-wide staff professional learning aligned to established district priorities.
    • Serves as the central office contact and liaison with parents and the community regarding the reading/language arts, social studies/history and World Language (6-12) instructional programs.
    • Coordinates meetings with specialists, department chairs, teachers, and administrators and disseminates information regarding program needs and expectations.
    • Provides materials, as needed, to support reading/language arts, social studies/history, and world language instruction through department budget funds.
    • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning or other appropriate administrator.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • Must possess a valid CT administrative certification (092 Intermediate Administration or Supervision), AND a valid CT secondary certification endorsement in English Language Arts (015) OR Social Studies (026) OR World Language.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and personal vehicle, as travel from school to school is required.
    • Must possess considerable teaching experience. Some experience as a departmental head, lead teacher, or in a related instructional leadership position preferred.

    Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning

    Term of Position: October 11, 2026 through April 2, 2027
