Job Description:
POSITION: Food Service Aide
Under direct supervision, assist the Food Service Coordinator in preparing and serving nutritious, well-balanced meals for students and staff and in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dishwashing area.
EXAMPLE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of food and clean and organize the cafeteria counter.
- Serve students and staff at the cafeteria counter.
- Remove used dishes and assist in the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area
- Assist in the organization and storage of food, supplies, and equipment
- Assist in keeping all areas in the kitchen and dining area neat and clean
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Coordinator, Student Services Manager or Director of Business Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Food service experience
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- High standards of personal hygiene and sanitation
- Basic math skills with the ability to exchange currency
- ServSafe certification required
WORKING CONDITIONS: The Food Service Aide position is an hourly position that works an average of 8 hours per day and works Monday through Friday. The jobs functions requires the following physical demands: occasional lifting (30 pounds maximum), carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant reaching, handling, speaking, writing, hearing, and fine finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking, and sitting, and lifting up to 30 pounds. High volume of work and strict adherence to workload may be stressful.
