    ASSISTANT TEACHER

    St. Aloysius Catholic PreSchool, New Canaan, CT

    Qualified Early Childhood Educators: We're Looking for You!

    A state-licensed and Catholic Preschool, is seeking a Head Teacher to join our team immediately. We provide high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages 18 months-5 in New Canaan, Connecticut. If you are passionate about early childhood education, committed to helping young children thrive, and meet the qualifications below, we encourage you to apply.

    Required Educational Qualifications

    • Must have an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Human Development, OR
    • Must have an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus at least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development

    Or an CDA

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum of two years of experience in a licensed preschool, child care center, or comparable early childhood setting serving children ages 3-5.
    • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
    • Familiarity with Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS), NAEYC standards, and Connecticut OEC/DPH licensing requirements preferred.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and education.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support Head Teacher in planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging learning experiences for preschool-aged children.
    • Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
    • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
    • Build positive relationships with children and families.
    • Adhere to all program policies, accreditation standards, and state licensing regulations.
