Sodexo Magic is seeking an experienced, service-driven Buffet Runner with a professional presence to join our team at the Delta Sky Club at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. This is an opportunity to be part of a premium lounge environment where elevated service, attention to detail, and seamless execution define the guest experience. In this role, you will support the flow, presentation, and quality of our food and beverage offerings while helping create a clean, welcoming, and refined space for every traveler.
As a Buffet Runner / Food Service Worker, you will play a key role in delivering a consistent, high-quality lounge experience by supporting culinary and service teams with precise setup and timely replenishment of buffet stations, maintaining clean, organized, and fully stocked service areas at all times, ensuring all food displays reflect quality, freshness, and attention to detail, assisting with food preparation and proper storage using safe handling practices, and contributing to a smooth, efficient, and welcoming guest experience through teamwork and awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and break down buffet and service stations with a strong focus on presentation.
- Replenish food, beverages, utensils, and supplies proactively.
- Serve and restock items from counters and steam tables.
- Clean and sanitize all workstations, equipment, and service areas in accordance with Sodexo and regulatory standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
- Support beverage service, including coffee and tea setup and replenishment.
- Interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner and assist with requests as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1+ year of experience in hospitality, food service, or a guest-facing environment preferred.
- Experience in airport lounges, hotels, or upscale dining environments is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
- Detail-oriented with a natural sense of presentation and service.
- Reliable, adaptable, and committed to high standards.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
Requirements:
- Ability to successfully pass a TSA background check and drug screening.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs as needed.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
