Job Summary
This position builds and maintains the flying schedule for a B-1B squadron, working from syllabus requirements, crew currencies, aircraft availability and range access. Prior B-1B experience is useful but not required; scheduling experience in another airframe is acceptable.
Responsibilities and Duties 
• Determine flight, ground and simulator schedule requirements for upgrade, initial qualification, requalification, transition, currency and continuation training based on syllabus requirements, student progression, weather and daily equipment and range availability.
• Correlate sortie length and airspace requirements with syllabus requirements.
• Build long-range and short-range schedules ensuring full coverage of aircrew, instructor, evaluator, supervisor and support positions.
• Coordinate with training officers, Aviation Resource Management, the Unit Deployment Manager and the Operations Officer to arrange the schedule in accordance with DO priorities.
• Publish and post unit scheduling data in PEX and maintain locally developed database systems.
• Perform daily updates of scheduling data to reflect changing conditions and training completion rates.
• Track crewmember availability against leave, TDY, medical appointments and other commitments so assigned sortie taskings are met.
• Obtain aircraft and equipment availability data from maintenance and schedule crewmembers accordingly.
• Facilitate last-minute schedule changes with the current mission commander or operations supervisor when a shift is not fully manned.
• Attend weekly Special Use Airspace and Airspace Restrictions meetings and monthly Range Scheduling meetings for coordination and deconfliction.
• Produce the Flying Effectiveness Report, Flying Hour Program Report and Ready Aircrew Program inputs.
Qualifications and Skills 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Active SECRET clearance, or a previously held SECRET clearance that expired and was not revoked.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience working as a squadron aircrew scheduler.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience with PEX or a similar proprietary scheduling program.

QUALIFICATION WAIVERS
The Government may waive particular qualifications on a case-by-case basis for candidates who have the knowledge and skills to readily support the mission. Aircrew scheduling experience on a system other than PEX, and training or stan eval experience from another service or mission area, are examples. Apply if you meet most of the qualifications listed.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active SECRET clearance required, or a prior SECRET clearance that lapsed and was not revoked.
• Restricted Data access eligibility required.
• Performance is at the SECRET level.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS
• On site at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. The position cannot be performed remotely.
• Full time. Core working hours total 1,880 per year over 47 weeks, generally eight hours daily across five days, as the Contracting Officer's Representative directs.
• During exercises and holiday periods duty hours may move, not exceeding nine hours in a day, with known changes coordinated 48 hours prior.
• Federal holidays are observed, together with AFGSC Family Days.
• Four Aircrew Scheduler positions and three Operations Training and Stan Eval positions are anticipated here.
• Anticipated start on or about 26 September 2026, with all positions filled by 26 October 2026.
• Compensation negotiable and commensurate with experience. Medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off and 401(k).
• Base period plus four one-year option periods.

LOCATION
Ellsworth AFB is located at Box Elder, South Dakota, approximately ten miles from Rapid City and adjacent to the Black Hills. South Dakota has no state income tax and housing costs remain moderate.
