Position Summary
Perform inspection, repair, overhaul, testing, painting, and assembly of aircraft wheel and brake components.
Ensure work is completed in accordance with customer specifications, airworthiness requirements, manufacturer guidelines, and operating procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
Work in a repair and overhaul shop environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct receiving inspections of incoming assemblies and components using established procedures and technical data.
Perform disassembly, washing, blasting, painting, build-up, pressure testing, inspection, and assembly of aircraft components.
Handle and maneuver large aircraft wheels and brakes, including rolling and lifting.
Maintain proper segregation and identification of work-in-progress components.
Comply with customer, FAA, and JAA technical data requirements applicable to assigned work.
Mix and apply primer and paint.
Perform general shop and equipment maintenance.
Maintain a clean and organized work area using Five S principles.
Identify opportunities to eliminate non-value-added process steps and reduce waste.
Demonstrate commitment to continuous process improvement.
Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizen
Ability to work in a repair and overhaul shop environment.
Ability to stand and walk continuously.
Ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 35 pounds.
Ability to work with and comply with requirements related to hazardous waste handling.
Position is designated as safety-sensitive under FAA guidelines.
