JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structural Mechanic II
LOCATION:Dallas, TX
PAY RATE: $26.93/hour

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Assembles, installs, and inspects structural components using drawings, process specifications, and quality control requirements.

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and engineering documentation for structural assembly tasks.

  • Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments.

  • Utilizes tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.

  • Verifies work per work instructions and engineering specifications and identifies discrepancies.

  • Works with composite resins and materials for structural assembly.

  • Performs hands-on craftwork using power tools and hand tools associated with structural assembly.

  • Routinely moves product within the manufacturing work area using shop assigned equipment.

  • Performs work within allotted schedules and supports continuous flow of product by training and assisting employees.

  • Cross-trains in inspection and becomes SIA qualified.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 2 years of related structural assembly experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

  • Basic computer skills and basic shop math skills.

  • Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math.

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.

  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.

  • Ability to climb ladders, stands, stairs, and work in small spaces or restricted areas.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
