Varstaff is looking for an Aircraft Records Clerk.
About the Job: In this role, you will manage, optimize, and maintain critical aircraft technical documentation and records management systems. You will track and audit aircraft maintenance documents—including log pages, inventory records, Time Compliance items, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs). Working as a senior technical lead, you will resolve complex documentation compliance issues, lead process improvement projects, ensure strict adherence to regulatory standards, and assist with training records management personnel.
What We’re Looking For Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant aircraft records/maintenance documentation experience (or higher-level degree in lieu of experience).
Proven expertise in aircraft maintenance documentation and FAA/regulatory compliance requirements.
Advanced experience with computer systems, aircraft maintenance tracking software, and scanning paper records into electronic databases.
Ability to travel frequently outside the continental US (OCONUS), typically for extended periods.
Must-Have Skills
Aircraft Records Management: Deep working knowledge of aircraft logbooks, log pages, rotable/non-rotable parts certificates, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Time Compliance items.
Software & Systems Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, paired with hands-on experience using aircraft maintenance tracking databases.
Regulatory Compliance & Auditing: Ability to resolve complex compliance issues, ensure audit readiness, and maintain strict alignment with internal and industry standards.
Physical & Travel Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly, work at a computer for extended periods, and travel internationally for extended assignments.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Background in Aerospace & Defense, US Department of Defense (DoD), or US Military aviation maintenance records.
Demonstrated capability to fill in for the Records Lead during absences and train junior personnel.
Strong project management, data entry (35+ WPM), and process improvement skills.
