Description

This position will work from the Fairchild AFB outside of Spokane, WA. S&K offers a strong benefits package and highly competitive wages.

The Aircraft Mechanic II - Hydraulics performs KC-135 aircraft maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, modification, and documentation in support of organizational/intermediate/depot-level maintenance requirements at Fairchild AFB, WA with potential TDY support to other KC-135 locations as directed. The position specializes in aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, flight control, landing gear, and related mechanical systems.

  • Perform KC-135 hydraulic, pneumatic, flight control, landing gear, brake, and related aircraft systems maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, repair, and documentation.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, service, bleed, rig, and operationally check hydraulic and pneudraulic components and systems.
  • Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, pre-flight, thru-flight, post-flight, and inspection-related tasks as assigned.
  • Interpret and apply technical orders, maintenance manuals, drawings, schematics, work instructions, and other approved technical data.
  • Use aircraft maintenance tools, test equipment, pressure servicing equipment, torque wrenches, measuring devices, and other approved equipment as required.
  • Document maintenance actions in approved aircraft forms, records, logs, and Government maintenance systems.
  • Support aircraft launch, recovery, servicing, and general flightline maintenance tasks as required.
  • Comply with Tool Control, FOD prevention, safety, quality, security, and local operating requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance or on-the-job training to less experienced mechanics as directed.
  • Support TDY maintenance operations at other KC-135 locations as required.

Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience on military heavy aircraft is required; USAF KC-135 preferred.
  • Aircraft hydraulics, pneumatics, flight controls, landing gear, brake systems, servicing, troubleshooting, repair, and operational check experience is required.
  • Experience using aircraft technical orders, maintenance manuals, system schematics, and aircraft maintenance documentation is required.

Licenses/ Certification/ Registration
  • Must have a valid state driver's license when required by job assignment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS TDY travel, as required by the contract or task order.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver's license if required.
  • Must obtain all certifications and training required to perform assigned duties.
