What You'll Be Doing As an Aircraft Avionics Maintenance Technician, you will perform hands-on avionics and electrical maintenance in a commercial aircraft MRO environment. The work includes identifying system discrepancies, completing repairs and installations, performing operational checks, and supporting aircraft modification projects. Technicians in this position should be comfortable working from technical data, wiring documentation, and maintenance instructions while completing assigned work safely, accurately, and efficiently. Primary responsibilities include: Troubleshoot aircraft electrical and avionics system discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions. Repair, replace, install, and test avionics components, equipment, wiring, and related assemblies. Perform maintenance involving aircraft communication, navigation, lighting, flight control, and electronic systems. Conduct continuity testing, functional checks, and operational testing following maintenance or installation work. Use approved diagnostic equipment and maintenance procedures to isolate electrical faults. Complete avionics installations, system upgrades, aircraft modifications, and related maintenance assignments. Remove and reinstall avionics equipment and verify proper operation following maintenance. Work from aircraft wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering documentation, maintenance manuals, and other approved technical references. Record completed maintenance accurately according to applicable company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate technical issues and work progress with maintenance leadership, Quality, Engineering, and other members of the aircraft maintenance team. Perform assigned maintenance in accordance with FAA requirements, approved technical data, manufacturer specifications, and customer procedures. Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work areas in a safe and organized condition. Work additional hours or alternate schedules when required by aircraft production needs. Complete additional aircraft maintenance responsibilities as assigned. Experience We're Looking For Qualified candidates should bring a solid background in commercial aircraft maintenance along with practical avionics and electrical troubleshooting experience. Minimum requirements include: Commercial aircraft MRO experience. At least three years of heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and hands-on experience. Demonstrated experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining aircraft electrical and avionics systems. Previous experience working on Boeing 737, Boeing 767, Airbus, and/or Next Generation aircraft. Ability to understand and work from aircraft wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and other technical instructions. Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform assigned maintenance with limited supervision. Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus While not required for every candidate, preference may be given to applicants with: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification. FCC license. Heavy aircraft maintenance and/or modification experience. Hands-on involvement with avionics installations, system upgrades, or modification programs. Maintenance experience across multiple commercial aircraft platforms. Technical Skills Successful technicians should have: Working knowledge of commercial aircraft avionics and electrical systems. Experience using avionics test equipment, electrical diagnostic equipment, and appropriate maintenance tooling. Strong ability to interpret aircraft electrical schematics and technical documentation. Careful attention to detail and a commitment to completing quality maintenance. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate effectively in a production-driven aircraft maintenance environment. Familiarity with FAA requirements and accepted aviation maintenance practices. Physical & Work Requirements This position works directly in an active aircraft maintenance environment. Work may take place in hangars, maintenance facilities, and indoor or outdoor areas where environmental conditions can vary. The position may require employees to: Remain standing or walking for extended portions of the shift. Bend, kneel, crouch, squat, reach, and climb while performing aircraft maintenance. Access aircraft using ladders, lifts, maintenance stands, and elevated work platforms. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Safely operate hand tools, avionics test equipment, and precision instruments. Work from maintenance instructions, electrical diagrams, engineering documentation, and other technical materials. Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow applicable FAA, OSHA, customer, and Davcor safety procedures.
