Job Description


The Aircraft Electrician will perform avionics troubleshooting, installations, repairs, maintenance, and modifications to the avionics and electrical systems of F/A-18 aircraft. These modifications include upgrades to the Radar Package, Communications, and Comm Sec equipment, among other possible upgrades.


Responsibilities


+ Perform troubleshooting on avionics systems and electrical components.

+ Install and repair fiber optic cables and harnesses.

+ Conduct maintenance and modifications on F/A-18 aircraft, specifically focusing on electrical systems.

+ Upgrade and modify radar and communication systems.

+ Perform operational level maintenance on fighter jets, including F/A-18E, F/A-18F, and Super Hornet models.


Essential Skills


+ Experience in avionics systems troubleshooting.

+ Proficiency in fiber optic installation and maintenance.

+ Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.

+ 4 - 7 years of depot or heavy maintenance experience on aircraft electrical systems.

+ F-18 experience highly preferred.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Navy Ratings of AE or AT are highly preferred.

+ Experience with NAV - magic box is advantageous.

+ Eligibility for SECRET clearance is required.

+ Must be eligible for a Boeing badge, with no terminations on record.

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
