Sales Engineer

Position Overview
Responsible for selling complex technological products or services to businesses. The Sales Engineer will
serve customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and service. The Charlotte territory comprises Mecklenburg County and counties along the NC/SC border going toward Asheville.
Candidates must reside within the region and have compressed air or industrial equipment sales experience to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
• Actively drives sales and business development
• Formulates strategies to grow sales revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction in assigned territory
• Serves as a liaison and advocate between the customer and the organization
• Prepares and delivers technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers
• Confers with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements
• Collaborates with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
• Secures and renews orders and arranges delivery
• Plans and modifies products to meet customer needs
• Helps clients solve problems with installed equipment
• Recommends improved materials or machinery to customers, shows how changes will lower costs or
increase production
• Helps in researching and developing new products
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.

• Knowledge of technical products, rotating equipment, air compression products, and their applications
• Knowledge of industrial distribution models or multi-step distribution preferred
• Advocates a safety-first attitude in all aspects of the position
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software; Salesforce experience preferred
Education
Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or three to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
