THE POSITION

As an Aide Trainee with at the Wernersville State Hospital, you will play a key role in supporting patient well being and daily comfort. This position gives you the opportunity to work closely with patients and staff in a positive and structured environment. Your efforts will help create a safe and therapeutic atmosphere for all individuals. The agency encourages motivated people who want to build their skills and contribute to quality care.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on delivering direct patient care using patient-centered approaches to mentally ill consumers. You will help maintain safety, health, and dignity while following established procedures.

As an Aide Trainee, you will perform the following duties:

  • Patient Care: Assist with daily living activities, monitor comfort, and support patient hygiene needs
  • Health Monitoring: Take vital signs and observe patient condition changes for reporting
  • Safety Support: Follow precaution procedures, respond to emergencies, and use equipment properly
  • Documentation: Record patient information clearly, maintain confidentiality, and complete required reports
  • Team Coordination: Communicate with nurses, follow instructions, and contribute to a positive work environment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.

  • Work hours:

  • 2nd shift, 3:20 PM - 11:20 PM, Sunday through Saturday

  • Two paid 15 minute breaks - no lunch

  • Beginning September 12, 2026, work hours will be 3:00PM to 11:30PM with a 30 minute lunch break

  • 4 week pattern - work every other weekend and holidays as assigned

  • May change based on operational needs.

  • Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.

  • Overtime: As required and subject to emergency call in.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
