QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children
- Skills to perform multiple tasks
- Competence to operate standard office equipment and use pertinent software applications
- Responsible and able to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic math, concept of grammar and punctuation and age appropriate activities
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans under supervision of the teacher; make instructional presentations; conduct discussions; encourage practice; and correct student's work in a manner that promotes language competence
- Establish a positive rapport with students, parents and school personnel
- Work with individual students or small groups so that they may attain grade-level proficiency, and to remediate diagnosed weaknesses
- Attend appropriate and required staff development to enhance instruction
- Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance
- Other duties as assigned
