SYSTEMTEC is seeking a AI Software Engineer for a remote opportunity for candidates working EST hours. Candidate will develop and deploy production-ready AI applications that improve patient scheduling, engagement, and care-navigation experiences. This role combines strong software engineering with agentic AI, conversational technologies, API integrations, and cloud-based application development.
Required Qualifications of the AI Software Engineer :

- 5+ years of professional software engineering or application development experience.
- Strong programming experience in Python, Java, or another commonly used programming language; Python preferred.
- Hands-on experience developing and integrating APIs, enterprise applications, and scalable software solutions.
- Experience with AI applications, LLM integrations, agentic AI concepts, tool calling, and AI-powered workflows.
- Experience with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, source control, application architecture, and production deployments.
- Knowledge of containerization, DevSecOps, observability, and production-readiness practices.
- Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data as well as NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with RAG architectures and AI application frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues, solve complex problems, and participate in live coding assessments.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the AI Software Engineer :
- Azure cloud development and deployment experience.
- Healthcare technology experience and knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Epic EMR experience, including Epic Hyperspace, Epic APIs, or Epic certification.
- Experience developing voice agents, conversational AI, or patient-facing AI applications.
- Experience with patient scheduling, care navigation, patient engagement, or EHR/EMR integrations.
- Full-stack development experience, including frontend exposure.
- Familiarity with responsible AI practices such as fairness, bias mitigation, transparency, and explainability.
Responsibilities of the AI Software Engineer :
- Design, build, test, and deploy scalable AI-enabled applications and agentic workflows supporting patient scheduling and engagement.
- Develop conversational and voice-based AI experiences across phone, SMS, chat, and email channels.
- Integrate APIs, enterprise platforms, AI services, and data sources to deliver reliable end-to-end applications.
- Implement LLM, RAG, tool-calling, and AI application frameworks within production solutions.
- Develop and maintain cloud-based deployment, CI/CD, MLOps, monitoring, and observability capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, data scientists, product managers, and designers to prototype, deliver, evaluate, and continuously improve AI products.
Work Location: Remote. EST Hours. Must be located in the United States.
