AI Product Owner (Generative AI & Agentic AI Solutions)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated AI Product Owner to join a leading Enterprise Systems Portfolio within a large wealth management organization. This role will focus on driving the development and delivery of innovative Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions that empower Financial Advisors with faster access to information, intelligent automation, actionable insights, and enhanced client engagement experiences.
The ideal candidate will bridge business strategy and technology execution by translating product vision into a well-defined backlog, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful delivery of AI-powered products in a highly regulated enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Backlog Management
- Own and manage the product backlog for AI-focused initiatives and value streams.
- Translate business objectives and product strategy into prioritized features, user stories, and technical requirements.
- Define detailed acceptance criteria, functional and non-functional requirements, and governance controls.
- Lead backlog grooming and refinement sessions with engineering, architecture, and business teams.
- Collaborate with technical architects and AI specialists to understand dependencies, constraints, and implementation approaches.
- Prioritize deliverables based on customer value, business impact, feasibility, compliance requirements, and organizational goals.
Business Value & Product Discovery
- Partner with stakeholders to identify and evaluate AI-driven business opportunities.
- Develop problem statements, value hypotheses, business cases, and success metrics.
- Document assumptions, risks, dependencies, and critical decision points.
- Measure product success through adoption rates, user engagement, operational efficiency, quality metrics, and business outcomes.
- Analyze post-release performance and stakeholder feedback to guide future enhancements.
Agile Delivery & Execution
- Define sprint goals, release priorities, and measurable product outcomes.
- Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning and dependency management activities.
- Ensure backlog readiness for upcoming sprints and releases.
- Coordinate testing, acceptance validation, release planning, and production readiness activities.
- Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned into future product iterations.
Stakeholder Management & Governance
- Collaborate with business, technology, operations, compliance, legal, security, and risk management teams.
- Communicate product priorities, delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and roadmap updates.
- Support Responsible AI initiatives, ensuring compliance with privacy, security, auditability, and governance standards.
- Remove blockers and facilitate timely decision-making across cross-functional teams.
- Promote best practices in product management, user experience, and AI solution delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Delivery Manager, Business Analyst, or related role delivering enterprise technology solutions.
- Hands-on experience working with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI APIs, orchestration platforms, agent frameworks, or AI-powered business applications.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management practices.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, product, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to define product requirements, prioritize initiatives, and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering AI solutions within financial services, wealth management, banking, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with AI governance, data privacy, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with tools such as Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar AI platforms.
- SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or related Agile certifications.
