AI Engineer WhatsApp Integration

Job Summary

Cognizant is seeking an AI Engineer – WhatsApp Integration to build and deploy production-grade AI-powered conversational applications using WhatsApp Business Platform, LLMs, RAG, and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Build AI chatbots and virtual assistants using WhatsApp Business/Cloud API.
• Integrate LLMs, GPT, GenAI, and RAG into conversational workflows.
• Develop Python and/or Node.js backend services, REST APIs, and webhooks.
• Integrate WhatsApp solutions with CRM, ticketing, and enterprise systems.
• Implement conversation memory, context management, prompts, and AI guardrails.
• Build RAG pipelines using vector databases.
• Manage WhatsApp templates, opt-ins, session rules, and messaging compliance.
• Deploy and monitor applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Optimize performance, reliability, latency, security, and response quality.

Required Skills

• Hands-on AI/LLM/Generative AI application development.
• Experience with WhatsApp Business API / WhatsApp Cloud API or similar messaging platforms.
• Strong Python and/or Node.js skills.
• Experience with REST APIs and webhooks.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Production chatbot/conversational AI experience.

• Twilio, Gupshup, 360dialog, Infobip

Candidate Requirements

• 5+ years of software/backend engineering experience preferred.
• 2+ years of AI/GenAI experience preferred.
• Must be willing to work in Sunnyvale, CA.
• Must provide work authorization, current/expected compensation, availability, and updated resume.
