North Memorial Health is seeking a Locum NP/ PA


Dates of Coverage: MAY- JULY. Up to full time work
Practice Setting: Primarily function as trauma hospitalist rounder. may have some intermittent ED consult, trauma activations, procedures work. For those with surgical and trauma critical care experience may have needs for this.
Call Ratio: no call- in house only
Average Number of Patients Per Day: 10-14 admitted patients to round on if non ICU, 6 if ICU, admitting/ED can be 2-15 per 24h
Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
Trauma Level/Designation: Level I adult that cares for Pediatrics
Will APP be Working Autonomously? Yes
Supervising Physician Present During Assignment?: Staffed with Trauma Surgeon 24-hour per day
Specialty Back-Up is Available (If Needed) for Procedures Noted: Trauma Surgeon
Patient Age Demographic: 0-100+, but primarily adult and adolescent.
Preferred local providers - Only Mileage is Reimbursed

Required Procedures: (These are not all necessary but preferred)
  • Non-Invasive Vent Management (bipap/cpap)
  • Ventilation Management
  • Chest Tube Insertion
  • Central Line
  • Arterial Line
  • Suturing Minor Lacerations
Required of the APP:
  • Responding to the ED for Trauma Alerts
  • Facilitating Discharges
  • ER Admissions
  • Daily rounding and management of all conditions- we do not use hospitalists. need to be fully able to be attending on all patient conditions
Additional Required Procedures/Responsibilities: We do have guidelines and non clinical expectations for tracking

    • Board Certified (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C) - [REQUIRED]
    • No FNPs, only Acute Care NP or PA - [REQUIRED]
    • MN License - [REQUIRED] at time of name clear
    • ATLS, PALS, ACLS - [REQUIRED]
    • NOC shift 7p-730a - [REQUIRED]
    • Local Candidate- [PREFERRED]
    • DEA - Verbal Confirmation [REQUIRED] at time of name clear
    • A Self-Query NPDB report is required at the time of presentation and must be pulled within the same month as the submission. - [REQUIRED]
    • Minimum 1 year of practice as an APP in the inpatient setting, optimally with trauma , ICU , and/or orthopedics. - [REQUIRED]
