Agricultural Seed Processing Technician

Bloomington, IL • Full-time, second shift • 2 roles available

Pay: $19–$22/hour + 15–17% profit sharing (paid in December and August) • Overtime in peak season • Full benefits

What you’ll own

  • Operate and monitor the conditioning tower to keep the line moving and reduce downtime
  • Hit throughput targets—maximize units processed and packaged each run
  • Verify that cleaned, sized, treated, and packaged seed meets customer specs
  • Offer day-to-day direction for teammates within conditioning processes
  • Ensure thorough cleanouts and careful transfers to protect product integrity
  • Execute Remington’s QMS practices and plant safety programs
  • Log accurate run data and conditioning records
  • Complete preseason maintenance and routine PMs to avoid downtime
  • Operate forklifts as needed and maintain a neat, orderly work area

What you bring

  • Experience from production lines in food, packaging, grain, feed milling, fertilizer, or similar environments
  • Strong communication and on-the-floor leadership instincts
  • Ability to lift 30–75 lb bags repeatedly; stand and move throughout the shift
  • Forklift background or willingness to get certified
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment setup and maintenance
  • Consistent attendance and long-tenured work history

Work cadence and conditions

  • Sept–Mar: Conditioning + shipping surge—fast pace and overtime opportunities
  • Mar–Sept: Shipping slows—focus on warehouse organization and next-season prep
  • Dusty environment with seed/pollen exposure; PPE provided (significant sensitivities may not align)
