Job Description:
The Department of Animal Sciences'''' Equine Science Center is seeking an Agricultural Assistant II. This individual will be involved in the care of horses and assist with research data collection and other duties as assigned. The employee will perform routine maintenance on facilities and equipment and keep accurate records relating to expenditures, inventories, and maintenance logs.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Normal Work Schedule:
7:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. (40 hrs per week)
Some weekends and evenings required for animal care and production of hay.
Requires work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, rain, dust, pollen).
This position will be considered an essential personnel position in emergency situations.
Expected Salary:
$19.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Valid driver''''s license
Preferred:
Horse-handling experience
Herd health experience
Ability to manage and create content for social media
Ability to keep accurate computerized records
Experience operating tractors and mowers
